HOW TO MAKE A CASUAL, LIGHT BRAIDED BRACELET
1. Use remnants of fabric you love; the remnants need to be a couple feet long. A thin calico is what I used for this bracelet, but Martha Stewart Living used silk dupioni for its vivid colors, which I think would be lovely too.
2. (My favorite part) Tear the scraps into three long, thin strips. My strips were about 1/2 inch wide.
3. Knot the three strips at one end. Attach a safety pin through the knot, and safety-pin your project to a couch arm or your pants-leg (if your pants are pretty sturdy).
4. Braid the three strips until you get to the other end. (You know, strand #1 over strand #2, under strand #3).
5. Knot the three strands at the bottom, then knot the bottom and top together.
